Countertops
Kitchen countertops come in a wide array of styles and materials. At FSBD, we will work with you to determine the best fit for your project and needs.
Durability, maintenance and aesthetics are all important factors to consider when choosing a countertop.
Countertop Installation
Installing countertops is a precise science, which is why our installers are continually trained in the latest methods and practices. They know how to anticipate and prevent issues that a less seasoned contractor may miss.
Our Countertops
FSBD has premier partnerships with major countertop suppliers through our relationship with the Tile Market of Delaware. They have one of the area’s largest and most comprehensive selections of countertops, backsplashes and flooring.
Tile Market offers the widest ranges of colors, styles and customizations on the market today.
Countertop Offerings
Countertop options include a vast range of colors in:
Granite
Granite is an extremely popular choice for homeowners, and with good reason. It is a very hard stone that is 100% natural and polished to a fine finish. Its durability, heat-resistance and beauty make it a versatile and excellent choice for kitchens. Granite is available in a large variety of colors and patterns.
Quartz
Quartz is made of approximately 95% natural stone and 5% polymer resins. Pigment is added to the quartz, so many colors are available to match your kitchen. Quartz is harder than granite and very durable. It can be sensitive to heat, so care must be used when placing hot pots on quartz counters.
Marble
For the ultimate in luxury living, marble countertops are hard to beat. No two pieces of marble are alike, so it offers a unique beauty. Because it is not heat-resistant, marble requires more care than other countertop options. Additionally, it can develop chips, and its porous nature means that care must be taken with spills. Marble must be sealed regularly for proper maintenance.
Soapstone
Soapstone is a soft, natural stone that offers a warm look. It has a limited color palate, with colors and hues ranging from white to charcoal. Soapstone is not as hard as granite, so care must be taken not to chip or scratch the surface. It is very non-porous stone. Soapstone does not require sealing, and it is easy to care for and clean.
Quartzite
Quartzite is a beautiful, natural rock that is harder than granite. It is very heat-resistant and durable. Because it is all-natural, it must be sealed to ensure that liquids do not stain the surface. Quartzite offers less color choices than quartz because it is a natural rock, whereas quartz is a composite, engineered rock with added color pigments. However, it offers a natural, organic look with a wide range of color tones.
Slate
Slate is a great choice for kitchen countertops because it offers great durability and easy maintenance. It stands up well to heat and does not chip or scratch easily. Its non-porous surface means it won’t absorb liquids, thus eliminating staining. Slate is more affordable than granite and other stones, making it an economical and popular option for many homeowners.
